The Grambling State University Police Department employs sworn POST certified officer and non-POST certified officers, headed by and Administrative Coordinator, with a administrative secretary and clerk. The number of officers in each category is as follows:

Police Qualifications/Certifications

GSU Police Officers are highly trained law enforcement. Police recruits must successfully complete 335 hours of standard police academy. Additionally police officers must also complete a minimum of 8 hours of in-service training and qualify with their weapon every year to maintain state certification. Newly personnel hired are expected to become POST Certified within one year’s time.
