The Reference Department is located on the first floor of the library. The print collection is comprised of library resources, which cannot be checked out. It includes dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, indexes, atlases, maps, directories, bibliographies, almanacs, etc.
These resources are identified in the Grambling Online Public Access Catalog (GOPAC/iLINK) as noncirculating.
Some highly used resources are located in the Ready Reference section located behind the Reference Desk. A current validated identification card may be required to use resources that are located at the Reference Desk.
The library is a member of LOUIS: The Louisiana Library Network and many indexes can be accessed through this system. Electronic Reference Resources can be accessed from the library's Local Area Network (LAN) on personal computers located throughout the library.
A. C. Lewis Memorial Library is an selective depository for the State of Louisiana documents. The collection is accessible and free to the public during all hours that the library is open. Email the reference department at reference@gram.edu.
