Upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 will bring a fresh and modern experience to your screen. Overall, the upgrade aims to provide a more efficient and visually appealing environment.
You will have the option to self-install or wait until your department's group upgrade for an automatic install.
A self-install update will be available starting on Month Day, 2024, through Information Technology Center.
The upgrade requires an on-campus network connection and takes approximately 40 minutes to complete. We suggest performing the upgrade during lunch hour or about an hour before you leave for the day.
If you choose not to self-install, the Windows 11 update will be automatically applied during the month of month 2025.
Upgrades will be rolled out each week on Mondays to groups of departments.
Your department will be notified via email one week before your upgrade occurs.
Save any important work prior to your upgrade
After the install, you may need to re-login to Office applications such as Outlook, Teams, OneDrive
No applications are being removed during the upgrade process
The upgrade process does not wipe the computer, it is an in-place upgrade
Departments with specialized software or configurations will be upgraded on an individual basis
