Date: September 10 – 12, 2026 | Location: Lincoln Parish Library & Ruston Sports Complex

Registration is free and will open soon

Overview

The Healthy Brothers, Healthy Future (HBHF) is a rural and collegiate men’s health initiative designed to empower men through education, mentorship, screenings, and community dialogue. Grounded in medical sociology and developed under the leadership of Dr. Carlos Chapman II, the initiative emerged through the Department of Sociology and Psychology at Grambling State University, where faculty and student engagement supported its integration of education and service learning with community-based health engagement by hosting a health symposium. Building on the success of the Spring 2025 symposium held at Grambling State University, the 2026 event expands into the Lincoln Parish community to promote a broader, more accessible, and culturally competent grounded health movement through sustainable partnerships.

 Purpose

To improve health outcomes for men in rural and college-based communities through evidence‑based education, free health screenings, and community‑centered wellness activities. These efforts aim to strengthen brotherhood, resilience, family bonds, and encourage long‑term engagement.
