Computer Information Systems Department


Mission

The Computer Information Systems program is designed to prepare students for successful careers in the dynamic field of Information Systems and Technology. The department seeks to achieve this mission by the following objectives:

  • Provide instruction for the development of technical skills and a knowledge base required for the changing field of CIS;
  • Provide opportunities for students to develop the ability to think critically and reason logically;
  • Emphasize personal development in an effort to prepare students for employment and/or graduate studies.

The Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Computer Information Systems will be awarded to students who complete the 120 hour semester hour program in Computer Information Systems and meet the University and College of Business requirements for graduation.

Departmental Resources:

The department offers assistance in securing intern/co - op opportunities at a wide variety of locations across the country, scholarships, career counseling, student clubs and activities as well as field trips and seminars.
