What Can I Do?

The History Department at Grambling State University employs the study of the past to prepare graduates to be global citizens for the workforce of the future.

Our graduates have knowledge of how the world works, how society operates, how to use digital technologies, and how to analyze, manage, and disseminate the flow of information.
They also exhibit the Core Competencies described by the UL System:

  • Communication Competence
  • Critical and Creative Problem Solving
  • Adaptable Resilience
  • Cultural Competence
  • Self Reflective Awareness

The History major at Grambling State University prepares one for the rigors of advanced and professional degrees. History majors tend to score highly on standardized tests such as the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) and the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT).

Few areas of employment are devoid of history majors.
