Summer High Ability Program

 

Dear Prospective High Ability Student:

The Summer High Ability Program at Grambling State University (GSU) is designed for high school juniors (rising seniors) who have exemplified outstanding academic achievement. The program provides the participating high school student with the opportunity to enroll at GSU and earn six (6) credit hours. The program has a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) focus, requiring the completion of a mathematics course (3 credit hours) and the completion of a science project. Each participant will select the second course based on his or her interests. Courses that High Ability students have chosen include photography, public speaking, art appreciation, and biology.

Please take advantage of this opportunity to obtain a jump-start on your college career. You will make new friends, enhance your mathematics and quantitative reasoning skills, and develop abilities that will be beneficial when you begin your freshman year of college.

The deadline to apply for the Summer High Ability Program is May 23, 2019. You may apply online by creating a new user account at:

After the application is completed, click Application is Complete, select I agree to the terms, and print out the High Ability Program Signature Page and follow the instructions listed.

The High Ability Program will officially begin on June 23, 2019 and end July 26, 2019.
