Project Overview:
The first structure of its kind at a Historically Black College and University in the United States, the Digital Library and Learning Commons will significantly enhance the educational experience for Grambling State University’s growing student body. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to be a hub for studying, collaboration, and the pursuit of lifelong learning.
The building’s space plan includes more than 150 student computer stations, providing ample access to technology for research and coursework. It will also offer more than 17,000 square feet of dedicated study space, ensuring students have a conducive environment for individual and group study. Additionally, the library will house more than 200,000 physical resources, including books, videos, and microfilm, supporting a wide range of academic needs.
With 5,000 square feet of multi-purpose space to support various student programs and community events, this provides an area for workshops, lectures, cultural events and social gatherings, fostering a vibrant campus community. The Digital Library and Learning Commons represents a major investment in the future of Grambling State University, providing students with the resources and environment they need to succeed academically and beyond.
