Dr. Elise H. Reed is the Director of the MSW program and an Associate Professor. She joined the Grambling State University (GSU) faculty in 2016. Dr. Reed earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in social work from Grambling State University and a Doctorate of Education from GSU. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor, a Licensed Addiction Counselor and a Certified Clinical Supervisor. Dr. Reed has over 25 years of clinical practice experience, which encompasses the delivery of services in the in-patient and outpatient treatment settings to diverse populations. She has also worked in the private sector providing consultation, supervision, and educational programming. She is an active member of numerous community coalitions and advisory boards. She teaches courses in practice, child welfare, and addictive studies, and her chief research/service interest center around exploration and eradication of health disparities in rural communities.
