A limited number of graduate assistantships are available. Graduate assistants must be enrolled full time (a minimum of nine semester hours of graduate credit) during any semester in which they hold an assistantship.
To be eligible for an assistantship, a candidate must have a minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0 and “regular” admission status. The renewal of graduate assistantships is based upon the satisfactory performance of assigned duties and the maintenance of a minimum 3.0 GPA. Graduate students who are interested in assistantships must submit completed graduate assistantship applications to the Office of Graduate Studies. Applicants must also submit three recommendations from individuals who can attest to their academic abilities, character, and work ethic (i.e. faculty members and former employers). Graduate students should also contact their department and express their interest in working as graduate assistants.
Applications for assistantships should be submitted not later than July 1st for fall appointments and October 1st for spring appointments.
