Dr. Percy “Master P” Miller

Entrepreneur, philanthropist, and cultural icon Dr. Percy “Master P” Miller will deliver the keynote address at Grambling State University’s Fall 2024 Commencement. The ceremony will take place on Friday, December 13, at 10:00 a.m. in the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.

A trailblazer in music, business, and community advocacy, Dr. Miller is celebrated for his unwavering commitment to empowerment and ownership. As the founder of No Limit Records, he revolutionized the music industry by creating a blueprint for independent success. Under his leadership, the label sold over 100 million records globally and launched the careers of music legends like Snoop Dogg, Mia X, and Silkk the Shocker. Miller’s entrepreneurial reach extends beyond music to include investments in apparel, luxury goods, food, and film production, cementing his reputation as a visionary business leader.

Dr. Miller is an iconic businessman, serial entrepreneur, music mogul, entertainer, producer, best-selling author, speaker, philanthropist, and mental health advocate who champions ownership as the foundation of success. Miller has a proven track record of creating successful products and brands, inspiring individuals to take control of their careers and financial futures. Miller is an advocate for real diversity for minority-owned businesses and bridging the wealth gap. Although his entrepreneurial ventures are vast, his deepest passion lies in philanthropy, where he focuses on educating and empowering the next generation.

As the founder of the Nola Walk of Fame, Chairman of Team Hope Foundation, CEO of P. Miller Enterprises and No Limit Records, an independent label that sold over 100 million units worldwide, creating international fan frenzy superstar artist careers like Snoop Dogg, Mia X, Silkk the Shocker, TRU, and more, Miller cemented his legacy as a visionary entrepreneur. He is also the driving force behind Miller Family Foods, a family-owned business committed to strengthening families and communities by promoting active, healthy lifestyles. However, his business portfolio extends far beyond the food industry, with investments spanning diverse sectors, including apparel, shoes, high-end luxury luggage, restaurant franchises, and production in film and television. Adding to his multifaceted career, Miller played in the NBA for the Charlotte Hornets and the Toronto Raptors.

Despite numerous awards and accolades, Miller finds his greatest fulfillment in giving back. He is dedicated to helping others and inspiring them to uplift their communities. His most significant contributions come through his philanthropic efforts. As Chairman of the Team Hope Foundation™, he is deeply committed to improving the lives of youth and the elderly through programs designed to enhance their quality of life. As an ambassador for entertainment in the city of New Orleans, Miller has received widespread recognition for his contributions to bridging the wealth gap and uplifting the New Orleans culture. He was appointed Youth Ambassador for the NAACP, dedicating time and resources to support the Joel John Scholastic Academy in Los Angeles. His accolades include two NAACP Awards for Community Service, the Social Justice Entertainer of the Year Award in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Certificates of Appreciation from the California State Assembly for his advocacy in civil, social, and economic rights.
