Grambling State University’s Homecoming 2022 will feature a week filled with festivities before the Tigers take the field to face off against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 2 p.m. on Nov. 5.

The kickoff for Homecoming week will begin on a Prayer Walk at The Yard at 12:30 p.m. Sunday followed by a Gospel Concert featuring recording artist Todd Galberth. Admission is free for GSU students with a valid ID. Online ticket purchases are available for the general public while supplies last at www.gram.edu/homecoming.

Monday’s activities include a Faculty/Staff vs. Students Co-Ed Flag Football Game starting at 3 p.m. on the GSU Track as well as a Silent Headphone Party/Halloween Costume contest sponsored by the Favrot Student Union Board starting at 7 p.m. in the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.

GSU students can attend the Silent Headphone Party/Halloween Costume contest for free while general admission tickets will cost $5. Tickets can be purchased at www.gram.edu/homecoming.

On Tuesday, GSU’s Founders Day with a short ceremony at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at the bust of Grambling’s founder, Charles P. Adams, which is located on the east side of Lee Hall.

The Founder’s Day Convocation will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in T.H. Harris Auditorium with Grant serving as the keynote speaker for the convocation celebration.

A Fashion Show sponsored by the Favrot Student Union Board will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday featuring Black Dynasty, the Strut L.A. Modeling Troupe and The Fashion Club.

Then at 7 p.m. Tuesday, an Aux Cord Wars event will be held at the Hobdy Assembly Center that will give audience members a chance to control the music of an old-school DJ competition with a chance to win cash or prizes. Tickets are available at www.gram.edu/homecoming.

Wednesday’s Homecoming will feature two activities: “Pretty Wednesday,” an event for GSU students, will begin at noon at The Yard while a Talent Show will be held at 7 p.m. inside the Hobdy Assembly Center.

A Comedy Show will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday featuring Reemo Rod, Mr. Bankshot, and Ronnie Jordan, admission is free for GSU students with a valid ID. Online ticket purchase is available for the general public while supplies last at www.gram.edu/homecoming.

Friday’s events will include the Fred C. Hearn Memorial Golf Classic starting at 8 p.m. at Trail’s End golf course in Arcadia.

The two-person scramble will begin with registration at 8 a.m. followed by tee times start at 9 a.m. The event will include first-third place team prizes as well as prizes for Closest to pin and Longest Drive.

Player Registration will cost $100 before Saturday and $120 on-site. Hole Sponsorships are available for: $125 and Sponsorships for $250, $500, and $1,000. Those interested can register online at gufoundation.link/golf2022.

An “All About The Yard” event will be held starting at 1 p.m. Friday outside the Favrot Student Union while a Homecoming concert featuring ROB49, K CAMP, GLORILLA, and SWV will start at 7 p.m. Friday inside the Hobdy Assembly Center.

Admission to the concert is free for GSU students with a valid ID. Tickets for nonstudents will cost $40 and are available at www.gram.edu/homecoming.

Homecoming day will kick off with a parade starting at 9 a.m. Saturday through downtown Grambling and Main Street with the game against UAPB beginning at 2 p.m.

A Greek Step Show will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Hobdy Assembly Center while an Alumni Late Night Breakfast will be held from 8 – 10 p.m. at McCall Dining Hall.

Enhanced security will be in place during Homecoming week, including checkpoints at various locations around campus.
