Grambling State University to Hold Veterans Appreciation Day Program November 11
GRAMBLING, La.- Oct. 29, 2021- Grambling State University will honor military veterans during its third annual Veterans Appreciation Day Program at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center. The event, which is open to the public, will salute veterans and extend gratitude for their service. Attendees must wear masks and practice social distancing.
State Rep. Patrick O. Jefferson, D-Homer, representing District 11 will deliver the keynote address.
Rev. Maurice White, senior pastor at Zion Traveler Baptist Church in Ruston, will give the invocation. The program will feature the presentation of colors by GSU ROTC Tiger Battalion, a performance of the National Anthem by the World Famed Tiger Marching Band and a music medley by the GSU Choir.
GSU President Richard Gallot and Grambling Mayor Edward Jones will speak during the recognition as well as LaVetCorps Navigator Greg Ludley.
“Grambling State University would like to honor the men and women who have bravely served and fought for this country,” President Gallot said. “Veteran’s Day is a time to pay tribute to all veterans. We want to honor those who are still with us as well as those who have made the ultimate sacrifice by giving their lives. We want to thank all of our veterans and their families for their selfless service to this nation.”
