LunchLearn3Statewide and National Partner Prospects Collaborate to Grow Grambling State University

With national recognition for its new library, student-athletes, major athletic partners like Adidas, and more, now companies across the country are finding new ways to grow business by supporting Grambling State.

“Our record-making growth presents a tangible, urgent opportunity for the local and national businesses,” said Marc Newman, Vice President of Advancement, Research, and Economic Development at Grambling State University. “Our sponsorship program allows is to reach out to the marketing wing of corporations instead of just the philanthropic side.  Partnering with a brand that organically garners more than $6 million publicity in under sixth months is a good decision for any business.”

Through “Lunch and Learn” events, Newman, GSU’s Athletic Director Dr. David Ponton, and a team of existing and prospective supporters collaborate on how Grambling State can help individual businesses meet their business goals.

“There’s power in these conversations,” says Newman. “When we can hear a partner’s business needs in their own words, we can find ways to make big things happen for each business and our University.”

LunchLearn2Some of the marquis wins achieved through Lunch and Learns have included multi-million dollar renovations in the Eddie G. Robinson Stadium, sponsored classrooms, and new student scholarships. On the partner side, these efforts have helped create more than 150,000 unique exposure points to prospective customers for companies like Coca-Cola, Whataburger, Origin Bank, CenturyLink and others.

“We’ve engaged more than 35 partners in this year’s events and are looking forward to our next conversations,” said Newman.
