Safety Update – Grambling State University Incident | March 7, 2019 – Gun Incident On Campus (Updated)

On the morning of March 7, 2019, at approximately 8:54 a.m., Grambling State University authorities were notified by University Police of an on-campus incident that involved one student and one non-student. As of the latest update from authorities:
- GSU’s campus has been declared safe by local law enforcement
- Operations and classes continue on their regular schedule
- One injured party was transported by local authorities to receive care for non-life threatening injuries
- One suspect was taken into custody at the scene of the incident
- The weapon involved in the incident has been recovered
- Early reports indicate that the visitor did not intend to harm the student
