For generations, African Americans have celebrated the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This year, the Grambling State University community will share in a time of reflection inspired by one of Dr. Kind’s most famous speeches, “What is Your Life’s Blueprint?”
Join the GSU Family and speaker Jevin Hodge, who became the youngest African American official elected within the Democratic Party nationwide at age 23, for a march, ceremony, and reception.
About the Speaker
Jevin D. Hodge – Vice Chairman of The Arizona Democratic Party
Jevin Hodge stands as a proud advocate for local communities. He has been involved in policy advising and campaign management at the municipal, state, and federal level. Including advising top-level government officials and key business leaders on how to best engage millennials.
An Arizona native, Jevin is adept at working with community leaders and elected officials, primarily focusing on how to increase civic engagement among all Arizonans. Professionally, Jevin serves as the National Engagement Coordinator for LINK Strategic Partners. LINK Strategic Partners is a national strategic communications and stakeholder engagement firm headquartered in Washington, D.C.
Civically, he serves as the Vice – Chairman of the Arizona Democratic Party, Chairman of Board of Directors for Booker T. Washington Child Development Center in Phoenix, AZ, and Chairman of Board of Directors for the Tempe Union High School Education Foundation, in Tempe, AZ. Additionally, he is the former Vice Executive Director of The Manifesto Project, an Arizona-based non-profit working to answer the question: How does Arizona retain and develop its young professionals?
At 23, Hodge became the youngest African American elected official within the Democratic Party organization nationwide and the first African-American millennial to hold the position of vice chairman of the Arizona Democratic Party.
Lastly, Jevin is a Millennial Inspirational Speaker, noted as “America’s Leading Young Agent for Change” and author of L.Y.F.E. – Living Young Free and Extravagant. Where he travels the nation speaking to millennials, community leaders, and organizations on how to mobilize, attract, educate, and retain young talent.
