Students Can Receive Federally-Funded Relief  For Summer Session I & Spring 

SUMMER SESSION I CARES GRANT INFO: Eligible students can apply for CARES grant funding for Summer Session I. Each qualified student who is enrolled in Summer Session I with 0-3 credit hours will receive $100 and those with 4 or more credit hours will receive $200 in grant funds. Applications open June 9-16, 2020. 

SPRING 2020 CARES GRANT INFO: Some funds are still available after the initial wave of student applications. If you missed the initial application window for Spring grant funding, you have a second chance to apply. Applications open NOW – June 12, 2020. 

Students who meet the criteria may be eligible:  

  • Students who are or could be eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA), may receive emergency financial aid grants and  
  • Students who have incurred expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus that have affected their cost of attendance (COA) and   
  • Students who are degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate students and  
  • Students who were enrolled in the Spring Semester at Grambling State University and were not enrolled exclusively in online classes and/or programs prior to the COVID-19 emergency.  
  • Must have a valid 2019-2020 FAFSA on file.
     

All students are not eligible for CARES Act grant assistance and those who are not eligible will not have access to the application in BannerWeb. Students who meet pre-qualification to apply for CARES Act grant assistance will find the application in their student portals. Students must submit their CARES ACT Grant Application for the Spring and Summer I term no later than the close of business on deadlines listed above. 

Funds for both Spring and Summer Session I will be disbursed no later than June 30th after the enrollment in Summer I and application process has been verified.
