The Grambling State University Visual & Performing Arts Department will be showcasing “Shaking the Mess Outta Misery”. “Shaking the Mess Outta Misery” is a play that tells the story of a young Black girl, called “Daughter,” coming of age in the 1960s American South, where she is raised by a community of women after losing her mother at a young age; the play explores themes of womanhood, resilience, faith, and the rituals and stories passed down through generations of strong Black women, as Daughter reflects on her 12th summer and the lessons learned from the women who guided her journey to adulthood.

We will also have 10:00AM Matinee Shows on Thursday, February 27, 2025 and Friday, February 28, 2025.
