Center for Mathematical Achievement in Science and Technology

Pre-Freshman Academy

FOCUS OF THE PRE-FRESHMAN ACADEMY

The Pre-Freshman Academy is a two week enrichment designed to strengthen the participating student’s preparation for university level mathematics. A further aim is to increase student academic success in the pursuit of a Bachelor of Science
Degree in a STEM area.

Participating students engage in the manipulation of mathematical concepts and methods for solving problems that are often encountered in STEM areas. Students interpret and analyze data gathered from a variety of scientific experiments. Additionally, study skills that are vital to success in STEM areas are highlighted.
