Georgio Douglas Promoted to Leadership Spot After Working in Several Roles

GRAMBLING, La. – September 30, 2020 – Georgio Douglas has been promoted to Director of Admissions at Grambling State University.

“After extensive experience in customer service, Douglas started her career at Grambling State University in 2016 as enrollment specialist in the Office of Admissions and Recruitment. She was later promoted through the ranks to senior admissions counselor.

When the position of Director of Admissions and Recruitment became vacant, Douglas performed the leadership role, which led to an increase in freshman enrollment for the Fall 2020 academic year.

“Working in the Grambling State University Admissions and Recruitment Office has allowed me the opportunity to grow and lead an office of high standards and demand. It builds your resilience and gives the satisfaction of knowing you have helped someone to further their education to provide an opportunity to better themselves for success in life,” Douglas said. “I attribute much of this hard work to the GSU Admissions Team. This team has worked tirelessly to provide outstanding service to our students, parents, constituents and alumni. I am proud to have the opportunity to lead a team of such caliber.”

About Georgio Douglas

Douglas is a lifelong resident of the Grambling, Louisiana, area. She is a 2009 graduate of Grambling High School and a 2013 Cum Laude graduate of Grambling State University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science Pre-Law. She continued graduate studies at Webster University of St. Louis, Missouri, and received a Masters of Arts Degree in Human Resources Management in 2016.
