Grambling State University Community to Submit Questions and Attend Facebook Live Event 

GRAMBLING, La – March 31, 2020 – Today, President Rick Gallot announced a virtual Town Hall meeting with University of Louisiana System President Jim Henderson to be hosted on Facebook Live by moderator Charles Blow on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. 

“The last month has brought drastic changes and shifts to our University community,” said President Gallot. “Dr. Henderson and I want to provide an open forum to answer questions and give insights on what’s next for Grambling State and the System.” 

Grambling State has made many adjustments to operations and academic instruction during the COVID-19 crisis, including the departure of over 2,000 students from campus, the shift to offering classes 100% online and transitioning the majority of University staff to remote work. More information on the University’s response to COVID-19 can be found in the release here.  

Those planning to attend the virtual town hall should RSVP to the Facebook Live event and submit their questions to mediarelations@gram.edu by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2. Viewers will have the opportunity to comment their questions on Facebook Live during the town hall meeting, which begins at 6:00 p.m.

Charles M. Blow has been a New York Times Op-Ed columnist since 2008. Blow joined The New York Times in 1994 as a graphics editor and became the paper’s graphics director. He became the paper’s design director for news before leaving in 2006 to become the art director of National Geographic magazine. Before joining The Times, Blow had been a graphic artist at The Detroit News. 

Blow is the author of “Fire Shut Up in My Bones,” released in September 2014. He graduated magna cum laude from Grambling State University, where he received a B.A. in mass communications. Today, Blow lives in Brooklyn, New York and has three children.
