Research doesn’t thrive without a strong foundation. That’s why Grambling State has launched the GR²—Grambling Research and Resource Foundation—to drive growth, partnerships, and infrastructure on the path to R2 status and national distinction as a research university.
Digital equity takes on new meaning at Grambling State, where a $500,000 Mellon Foundation grant is helping faculty and students preserve, amplify, and digitize Black voices from Northern Louisiana through the award-winning Voices of Grambling project.
Research excellence begins with integrity. A $700,000 NSF grant is helping Grambling State strengthen its culture of responsible research through expanded ethics training, giving faculty and students the tools to conduct meaningful work grounded in accountability, rigor, and trust.
Some of the smallest particles are producing the biggest breakthroughs. A $253,000 NSF grant awarded to Grambling State Physics Professor Dr. Santanu Banerjee is bringing cutting-edge atomic force microscopy to enhance STEM research and learning across disciplines.
Ideas that spark change deserve a global stage. That’s what Grambling State Professor Dr. Bharat Rawal found when he presented groundbreaking cybersecurity research at the International Conference on Computing, Communication, and Networking Technologies.
Momentum builds when investments match intention. With renewed support from the National Science Foundation, Grambling State is scaling its STEM efforts to prepare more students for careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.
The staff, management and leadership of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs department envisions an entity that provides an environment that fosters intellectual discovery, creative problem solving and the dissemination and application of knowledge by eliminating administrative burden inherent in the search for external funding resources.
Our goal is to serve as advocates for grant seekers by providing comprehensive support services over the life cycle of the grant, starting from concept development through project close-out. This includes the development and dissemination of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with the rules and regulations of the University and funding agencies, the preparation and submission of proposals and appropriate documentation.
Research and Sponsored Programs provides assistance to all members of the University community with the submission of proposals for external support of research, creative, instructional, and service activities.
Sponsored programs is a project that may support research, instruction, training and/or public service that is sponsored in whole or in part, by sources external to the University for which there is an expectation (implied or expressed) on the part of the sponsor for performance, deliverable(s) or outcome(s). Sponsored Programs include activities funded through grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements. A sponsored program is initiated with a proposal to the sponsor and followed by an award with specific terms, objectives, rights, and reporting requirements.
