Grambling State University Holds First Ministers Conference
Update: The evening worship service on March 26 will be held in honor of Dr. E. Edward Jones, pastor of Galilee Baptist Church in Shreveport, La. Please note that Pastor E. Edward Jones is the current pastor of Galilee Baptist Church, not the pastor emeritus, as reported in the previous press release.
GRAMBLING, LOUISIANA – Grambling State University is holding its first annual Ministers Conference March 25-27.
This conference will be filled with inspiring sermons and thought-provoking lectures. GSU Interim President Cynthia Warrick hopes it will become an annual event to strengthen ties between local churches, the community and Grambling.
“We look forward to this opportunity to be of service to area clergy and their respective church communities. Our aim is to host a Ministers Conference each year when clergy can come together in an environment conducive to learning and be exposed to cutting edge ministry resources and dynamic clergy leadership,” Warrick said.
The event will feature special guests: Dr. Harry Blake, who has served as pastor of the Mount Canaan Baptist Church in Shreveport, La., since 1966; Rev. Dr. Howard-John Wesley, senior pastor of Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria, Va.; and Rev. Dr. Darrell White, pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Alexandria, Va.
The conference will feature workshops on pastoral leadership, conflict resolution, and strengthening and growing your church and young adult ministry. The evening worship service on March 26 will be held in honor of Dr. E. Edward Jones, pastor emeritus of Galilee Baptist Church in Shreveport, La.
Grambling is holding this workshop free of charge to its participants. If anyone would like to donate money to help with the cost of food or workshops, donations can be made to Grambling State University, Office of Research, Advancement and Economic Development, GSU Box 4236, Grambling, LA 71245. Anyone who donates $100 or more will be recognized as a charter sponsor of this event.
