GSU Cybersecurity: Real Education, Real Impact
The 120 credit-hour degree program connects students with research leaders and working
professionals who specialize in big data, cloud computing, vulnerably assessment,
combating cybercrimes and more. The degree program in Cybersecurity is designed for
future ABET accreditation. The Department of Computer Science and Digital Technologies
has developed the following program educational objectives and student outcomes for
all graduates of our Cybersecurity degree program.
Program Educational Objectives
- Pursue a productive career in any computer-related field
- Adapt the technology advances by embracing life-long learning and continued professional
development through participation in computer-oriented workshops and events
- Demonstrate Teamwork skills, professional attitude and effective communication with
their peers, customers, supervisors through both written and oral means
- Develop innovative ideas for solving emerging real-world problems and make well-rounded
decisions when faced with social, ethical, and legal issues inherent to the computing
field.
Student Outcomes
- Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other
relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
- Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of
computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline.
- Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.
- Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice
based on legal and ethical principles.
- Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate
to the program’s discipline.
- Apply security principles and practices to maintain operations in the presence of
risks and threats
